How the calculation works
CPM = spend ÷ impressions × 1,000. Spend = impressions ÷ 1,000 × CPM. Impressions = spend ÷ CPM × 1,000.
Worked example
Spending $1,000 for 100,000 impressions gives a $10 CPM. At a $10 CPM, a $250 budget corresponds mathematically to 25,000 impressions.
Assumptions and limitations
Impressions must be greater than zero to solve CPM; CPM must be greater than zero to solve impressions. These estimates do not promise deliverable inventory or account for viewability, invalid traffic, fees or attribution.
Compare matching date ranges and inventory definitions. A low CPM does not establish high business value. Use ROAS for attributed revenue and margin for contribution; do not confuse advertiser CPM with publisher AdSense page RPM.
