How the calculation works
Fee = percentage of gross rounded to currency minor units + fixed fee. Net = gross − fee. Reverse mode starts from (target net + fixed)/(1 − percentage), then finds the minimum gross minor-unit amount meeting the target.
Worked example
For the reviewed US domestic Checkout preset of 3.49% + $0.49, a $100 payment has an estimated $3.98 fee and $96.02 net receipt. Reverse mode uses cent rounding rather than just displaying the continuous formula.
Assumptions and limitations
US USD presets are Checkout 3.49% + $0.49 and QR 2.29% + $0.09, reviewed 2026-10-08. They are not global rates. International surcharge is an explicit additional percentage input. Conversion, withdrawal, chargeback, negotiated and unentered fees are excluded. Zero-payment modelling produces no transaction fee.
Use custom mode for another country, received currency or product, and check the current merchant schedule and account agreement. Presets have a review date, not a promise of permanence. This estimate does not charge or transfer money.
