Drywall & Plasterboard Calculator
Estimate plasterboard sheets and finishing supplies for multiple walls or ceilings. Compare a conservative orientation-based sheet layout with an area-only estimate, and enter the coverage rates from the products you intend to buy.

How the calculation works
Layout sheets = ceiling(surface length / horizontal panel edge) × ceiling(surface height / vertical panel edge). Net area subtracts openings. Tape, compound and screws = net area × entered product rate × allowance, rounded to packages.
Worked example
A 4.8 m × 2.4 m wall with 2.4 m × 1.2 m panels placed vertically needs 4 layout sheets before extra allowance. With 10% extra, purchase 5. The net area is 11.52 m²; at 1.2 m tape/m², allowance gives 15.2064 m, or one 75 m roll.
Assumptions and limitations
No reuse of cut-offs between surfaces. Openings reduce consumable estimates but do not automatically remove layout panels. Opening areas always use m²; length units may be metric or feet. Layout is conservative and is not an optimized installation drawing.
Check board type, layer count and product coverage for the actual assembly. Fire/acoustic ratings, moisture resistance, framing, adhesive and fixing schedules are not designed here.
