Pool Volume Calculator
Estimate water volume from waterline dimensions and shallow/deep depths. Results distinguish US gallons, imperial gallons, litres and cubic metres. Two filling-price stages let you compare a simple stepped water charge without inventing local tariffs.

How the calculation works
Volume = plan area × average depth. Rectangle area=LW; oval=πLW/4; circle=πD²/4; approximate kidney=0.75LW. Average depth=(shallow+deep)/2. Filling cost is the sum of stage volumes × entered rates.
Worked example
An 8 m × 4 m rectangular pool ranging from 1 m to 2 m deep holds 48 m³, or 48,000 L. Half at $2/m³ and half at $3/m³ gives a $120 water estimate.
Assumptions and limitations
Depth is water depth and slope is assumed linear. Kidney factor is approximate. Steps, benches, curved walls, surge tanks and irregular contours can materially reduce or change capacity.
Use supplier or surveyed volume for critical treatment decisions. This tool deliberately provides no chemical dosing and does not estimate sewer, fixed, delivery or pump charges.
