Stripe Fee Calculator

Compare gross charge, processing fee and net proceeds, or reverse the calculation to estimate a charge needed for a desired net amount. Choose a clearly dated US domestic online-card profile or enter your own fee terms. No payment information is collected.

US USD domestic online-card preset: 2.9% + $0.30, reviewed 13 October 2026. Other products, regions, negotiated rates, taxes and optional services differ. Gross-up is arithmetic, not advice about lawful surcharging.

Custom profile only.
Optional international/FX fees supplied by you.

How the calculation works

Fee≈gross×percentage+fixed fee. Reverse gross=(desired net+fixed fee)/(1−percentage), rounded up to cents. Combined percentage includes any entered additional percentage points.

Worked example

At 2.9% + $0.30, a $100 charge has an estimated $3.20 fee and $96.80 net. To net $100 under the same assumptions, charge $103.30; actual fee rounding should be checked.

Assumptions and limitations

US USD profile reviewed 13 October 2026. Negotiated rates, products, currencies, international charges, conversion, fee taxes, refunds and disputes can differ. Display uses illustrative cent rounding.

Check your actual Stripe contract. Gross-up is mathematical and does not establish that passing fees to a customer is lawful or permitted by your card-network rules.
